In Wellington Management’s London office, we enjoy an ideal balance of the firm’s unique culture with a strong focus and respect for the local customs of our home regions. We speak the languages of our clients and work with them in the ways they would expect from a local money manager. In fact, in my area of the office, there is very little English spoken at all.
This is a flat organizational environment; everyone is on a first-name basis. It’s also a meritocracy, where your growth is based on your performance and contribution much more so than tenure. In addition, we are a highly diverse group that includes many people from many different backgrounds.
I joined Wellington Management for the opportunity to play a role in developing and implementing the firm’s European growth strategy. That remains an important aspect of my career. But I also joined because Wellington was the only firm among many I spoke with to understand the work-life balance I desired as a working mother. For me, the firm is a great blend of career challenge and satisfying working environment.
