Meaningful Opportunities to Learn and Grow
Over the course of 10 – 12 weeks in the summer, our MBA interns encounter a highly challenging and rewarding experience that offers insights into the investment management profession and Wellington Management. As an intern, you:
- Work in a designated area of the firm
- Are assigned a specific project or projects to complete
- Have access to all resources within Wellington Management
- Present your conclusions to an appropriate audience at the end of the summer
We take our internship projects very seriously. You can be certain that your completed project will fulfill a real business need and will have impact after your internship is over. Assignments are, at times, global in scope and may include travel to visit companies and/or attend conferences in the United States and abroad; there may also be an opportunity to spend time in one of our overseas offices.
As an intern, you gain exposure to a variety of people across the organization, including mentors with whom you interact on a regular basis. Our goal is for you to have broad exposure to people and experiences across the firm and an understanding of what it would be like to work at Wellington Management as a full-time employee.
Of course, we also want to get to know each other. We organize a series of sessions where professionals from various disciplines within the firm meet with you to share their background, responsibilities and insights about Wellington Management and the investment management business. We also sponsor social events so that you can interact with others outside of the office environment.
We hire MBA summer interns in anticipation of our full-time hiring needs. Although we have no preconceived hiring targets, we extend offers to second-year students who have successfully completed their internships and met or exceeded expectations.
